Preparations are underway for the 37th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Observance celebration honoring the life and achievements of the civil rights pioneer. The MLK Committee also supports progressive initiatives for justice and equity, especially in our public schools.

She has written two highly regarded books: Force and Freedom and We Refuse: A Forceful History of Black Resistance. The musical guests will be the Peoples Baptist Church Male Chorus, directed by Marcia Scott.
