Please join the LWVA for our Annual Meeting at the historic Old Schwamb Mill. We will enjoy a tour followed by a brief business meeting.
The Old Schwamb Mill is the oldest continuously operating mill site in the United States. Mills have been located on the main building site since the late 1600s. In 1864, Charles Schwamb purchased the existing building and began a family business producing oval wooden picture frames. This endeavor lasted more than 100 years. Arlington resident Patricia Fitzmaurice led the effort to turn the mill into a working museum soon after the Schwambs closed their business.
